Job 5:17 Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:
Eliphaz is at this declaring correction that find in other places in God’s Word. He is declaring the joy of correction because of the advantages of correction. He says to not despise the chastening of the Almighty.
2Co 4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
This passage bears the thought that correction that brings us back into the paths we should walk brings us great glory and God receives glory from our righteous and glorious walk. Notice that it is called, “light affliction” and the duration is for a “moment”.
Hebrews 12:5-11
Notice a relationship in verse 5. We are called children. Our earthly fathers disciplined us because we were his children. They did not discipline children that were not theirs. Our heavenly Father must have a relationship with us before He disciplines us. Since we are His children, He has the right to discipline us to correct us and bring us back to Him. Verse 7 says “if we endure chastening He treats us as sons. That means blessings. God wants good things for His children. Pay attention to verse 8. If we have never experience chastening, it is because we are bastards and not sons. We are illegitimate. He will say, “depart from me I never knew you.” He chastens His children for the benefit of the children. That benefit is Holiness. And according to verse 11 we produce peaceable fruit of righteousness because of our chastisement.
Proverbs 3:11-12. – My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:
12 For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
Why despise chastening when it proves the love of the LORD. Whom He loves He chastens and corrects us and delights in us. Let us all be delightful for the LORD.

6 Reasons You’ll Regret Why You Left the Lord’s Church

Both joining a church and leaving a church are serious business — business for which those involved will give an account before God. Here are six illegitimate reasons for leaving a scriptural New Testament church I have heard over the years.
1. Because our children want to go to another church (quite often that ‘other church’ is an unscriptural one with lots of ‘glitter’ but no ‘gold’). – The most spiritually immature (presumably) members of the family should not single-handedly make the most important decision facing afamily and their eternal destiny.
2. Because there aren’t many people here my age. – The church is not a social club, but the gathering of sinners saved by grace. The world should be at odds to explain the church. It should wonder, “What is it
that brings together such a diverse collection of people in such a tight bond of love?”
3. Because I don’t like the music. – The ‘contemporary vs. traditional type of music’ question is usually wrongheaded, in my opinion. Of greater importance is the question: What is the content of the songs being sung? Is the church singing good theology or merely good feel-ology?
4. Because the pastor’s sermons are too long. – Preaching is the central act of Christian worship and should receive the lion’s share of the time. Many churches are a mile wide but only an inch deep due to the teachings they’ve accepted as biblical truth!
5. Because they don’t have a good youth/children’s program here. Parents are the spiritual caretakers for the children. The church should merely reinforce the biblical truths taught in the home. No church pro-
gram will adequately shepherd our children; that is the calling of parents, particularly fathers.
6. Because the worship/preaching is boring. – The aim of worship is God’s glory, not our amusement. The Lord’s church is not to entertain the crowds but to train the saints to best honor Christ — period!

MARCH 16 – The Influence of a Child
2Kings 5:3 And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.
From the lips of a child comes the influence on a family of importance. A little girl, a slave girl, taken from her homeland and from her parents has such a confidence in God working through his prophet that she expresses a desire for her master.
Are we teaching our children so that they might be so confident about the healing power of Jesus? Are we teaching them God’s Word so that they could tell someone about the healing power of Jesus? We are not in the business of entertaining our children during Sunday School but instead are to be teaching them. One “so-called” Church near us takes their children to a pool that they have to let the children splash in the water. As soon as we can get our children out of the nursery they are learning to memorize scripture and sing children’s songs of God. We have our children praying in their Sunday School assembly and then they go to class to learn.
They are very eager to learn. We don’t entertain them, we engage them in the Word of God. My children from the ages of 8 to 13, hand out more tracts than my adults. Just this past Sunday I was moved as one of our young ladies carefully selected the tracts that she was going to hand out this week. She was saved in June at our church camp. Jesus said suffer little children to come to me. We must prepare them and teach them because all to soon they are grown and if not taught and grounded, the lure of the world and false religion will claim them.
I pray that the children in the care of the Church I Pastor become great soul-winners for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

FEBRUARY 1 – ANOTHER GENERATION
Judges 2:10 And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the LORD, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel.
Another generation arises behind us. How well have we raised and taught this younger generation? Are we so well established in the truths of Gods Word that we can teach our children. The rise of the generation behind me is a grave concern. I see those that have been raised in church all their lives by well grounded parents, even preachers and pastors that have left the plain doctrines taught in the Bible go astray into liberal churches and mitigated the ordinances that Jesus gave the church.
Do we not think that Jesus meant what He said? Are we not emphasizing Gods Word to our children or have we put to much emphasis on the things of the world and those things are beginning to take pre-eminance in our life and the life of the children? Maybe we are pursuing religion instead of developing a relationship. A relationship would lead us to the importance of walking with God and teaching our children to walk with God. Is there any parent that has been blessed to realize that Jesus died for them to give them everlasting life that would deny their children that opportunity by allowing them to skip being at church and hear the salvation message?
Two reasons our churches are declining. Members not willing to go to a lost and dying world. It is natural to talk football, baseball, the weather, family and health. Natural comes from the natural man. The spiritual condition of a person is the last concern. The spiritual condition is most important. The second, we have not prepared our children to accept Christ as Savior and receive baptism as identifying with Christ. We have not prepared them for membership in a Church that Jesus built and accepting the responsibility of being an active member.
Our children are not too young to understand the doctrines that are unique to Gods Word and Bible believing Landmark Missionary Baptists. May we be diligent in teaching the Bible.

CHILDREN OF PROMISE
The first two thousand years of human history might well be called “the age of experimentation.” Will mankind left largely to himself seek after God, and His will for their life? The obvious answer was, and is, “No!” Thus it was proven through the Noahic Flood, and the subsequent Tower of Babel that, though some were saved people spiritually, their way was corrupt. It followed then that God moved to implement a specific covenant relationship with His people. Abraham is the beginning of that line. He received a covenant of promise that is still in effect to this day. Although predicated upon spiritual salvation relationship with God, the covenant has to do with the life of obedience to God His people are to live.
The apostle Paul taught the church at Rome, and the churches of Galatia about this special standing with God in the following terms: “That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.” Romans 9:8. “Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.” Gal. 4:28. Some theologians would apply these scriptures to all who have repentantly received the Lord Jesus as their personal Savior, yet walk after the world or worse, walk after the heresies of Satan’s promotion. Such lifestyles have no advantage over the antediluvian population or those who busied themselves with the Tower of Babel. Furthermore, the loss of the true meaning of life on earth is just as sure to those of that mindset.
Let the reader consider that God would not have Ishmael for His heir, but the child of God’s promise: Isaac. His offspring was given a temporary covenant of Law that they might learn the awfulness of sin. It also prepared them for the next and last stage of the covenant relationship, the Anointed One’s body: the New Testament Church, purchased with the lifeblood of the Son of God. It is a covenant that will remain to give glory to God throughout the age, and in worlds to come. Among its multi-purposes is that of preparing a people to rule and to reign with Jesus in the fast approaching millennial reign.
Men have sought to offer to God various forms of legalism as His inheritance. Others have despised their heritage and sold out for worldly exaltation or temporary gain as did Esau of old, thereby losing something that cannot be regained. But it is true church saints that constitute those to whom the beloved apostle said, “Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.” Here then is the sweet possession of God’s true people on earth. Let it be cherished and never abandoned!

NOVA SCOTIA — Two homosexual men recently “divorced” under Canadian law so that they could include a third man in their relationship, and now plan to have their sisters serve as surrogates to bear their children.
“We just want to say that love is love. It should be multiplied not divided,” Adam Grant told the Daily Mail. “It shouldn’t matter if you’re in a three-way or a four-way relationship.”
Grant and his partner Shayne Curran met Sebastian Tran at a nightclub in 2012, after “tying the knot” the year prior. A year later, they agreed to be open to seeing others.
“Adam and I wanted to have a little more fun so we decided to experiment with multiple partners,” Curran stated. “We never intended it to be anything serious, we certainly never planning on taking on a full-time third partner by any means. It was just bit of sexual experimentation.”
When they met Tran, they both had feelings for him, so in discussing how they could include the man in their relationship, they decided to divorce in order to become a threesome.
While polygamy is not legal in Canada, the men state that they have attorneys that can work up paperwork declaring that the three are bound to each other “in the eyes of the law.”
“If anything, Sebastian only enhanced our relationship,” Curran said.
Now, in order to have children, the men state that their sisters have agreed to become surrogates. Some have also offered to donate their eggs.
“I have two sisters who have both offered to carry our children for us as surrogates and are willing to donate their eggs as well. My sisters actually argue over which one them will carry our baby first,” Curran stated. “Sebastian’s sister will probably donate her eggs too so we can keep it in the family. We want to mix our genes enough so that our kids are as genetically close to us as possible.”
As previously reported, earlier this year, photos of three Thailand men who symbolically “married” each other went viral, garnering societal support for the concept of same-sex “throuples” worldwide, but also generating remarks from Christians about the confirmation of the slippery slope that has long been predicted.
“Love occurs unconditionally and is not limited to only two people,” one of the men, only identified as Art, wrote on Facebook. “Love brings peace to the world.”
Following the report, Dr. Michael Brown noted that the situation demonstrates how mankind has made up its own rules along the way in an attempt to legitimize and justify what a particular person wants. Since homosexuals have stated that marriage should be defined as the union of two people who have feelings for each other, regardless of gender, where does the rule about two people come from?
“If a gay activist says, ‘But marriage is the loving, long-term commitment of two people,’ the answer is simple: ‘Says who? That’s just your new definition. Where did you get the idea it was two people if not from its historic, natural meaning?’” Brown explained. “And so, if I’m ‘bigoted’ because I don’t recognize same-sex ‘marriage,’ then gay activists (and their allies) are just as ‘bigoted’ if they don’t recognize three men (or women) ‘marrying.’
He stated that these developments are demonstrating the domino effect that results when the world rebels against God and His Master design for mankind.
“Those who have taken down the fence of marriage as God intended it have opened up a Pandora’s Box of possibilities,” Brown said, “none of them good.”

CALLED UNTO LIBERTY, 21ST CENTURY SERMONS

On October 1st, I had the privilege of defending Mr. George Krail, of Burlington County, New Jersey in a trial in Cherry Hill New Jersey Municipal Court. Cherry Hill, a prosperous stretch of post-World War II suburban sprawl that buried the once blooming orchards of South Jersey beneath miles of asphalt and shopping malls, hosts not one, but two, thriving abortion businesses. At the Cherry Hill Women’s Center unborn babies up to six-months’ gestation are slaughtered at a breathtaking clip. The Center was the site of thefirst Operation Rescue sit-in back in 1987, and more recently was the location of the notorious viral video by a young actress (an employee of the Women’s Center) who filmed and posted on the web her own abortion. Not surprisingly, then, the place has been a focus of protestors, sidewalk counselors, and prolife activists of all kinds for three decades now.
One of the most faithful of those folks has been George Krail. George, along with his equally zealous wife, Tina, has long been a fixture on the sidewalks surrounding the Women’s Center. A self-described “outlaw biker for Jesus,” George looks like what John the Baptist would have looked like if John the Baptist had worn a leather vest and denim instead of a leather belt and camel’s hair. And while George’s message to the patients entering the Center has always been one of compassion – he and his wife have sheltered in their home literally dozens of frightened, abused, desperate women who were about to have abortions – his message to the abortionists and their henchpersons has always been full bore, all-out John the Baptist. “I tell them they need to repent,” Krail says. “I give them the whole Gospel, not just the nice parts; that God hates the shedding of innocent blood, that Jesus said it would be better to have a millstone put around your neck and be thrown into the ocean than to harm one of His little ones.”
It’s true that not all prolifers necessarily care for George’s approach. But it’s hard for anybody to argue with his, and Tina’s, record of saving women and their babies from the abortionist’s grasp. I myself once held in my arms one such baby saved by George and Tina’s “whole Gospel” approach, while I argued to a municipal court judge that – given the very tangible (and very squirming) results – the court should forgive the Krails their trespasses at least that one time.
This week’s case involved a charge of “harassment” brought against George by the Director of the Cherry Hill Women’s Center. Among other things, the case illustrated one of the dangers Christians in this country face living in a decidedly post-Christian world, a world that daily loses touch with even a semblance of connection to the Christian roots of Western culture. There was a time in this country when people of all religions, or no religion, were at least familiar with and had some vague notion of the Biblical origin of phrases like “the blind leading the blind,” “a house divided against itself,” “casting your pearls before swine,” “all things to all men,” and dozens of others. But no more.
So when George Krail, in April of this year, stood outside the Cherry Hill slaughterhouse and yelled in the direction of the Director that “Jesus said, anyone who harms one of these little ones would be better off having a millstone placed around his neck and being thrown into the sea,” he found himself facing a charge of criminal harassment for threatening tohang the Director and dump her body in the Atlantic ocean!
Now, there are plenty of legal arguments, constitutional and otherwise that we are making in answer to this ludicrous charge, arguments the court reserved decision on following yesterday’s trial. (The judge asked the parties to submit further written arguments, after which the he will issue a decision.) But what particularly struck me during the trial was just how profound has become the disconnect between the average American and familiar Biblical allusions that used to be part and parcel of a common cultural matrix. The judge himself expressed surprise to hear Krail testify that the phrase about millstones and harming little ones and being thrown into the sea was actually from the Bible. Likewise the prosecutor and, obviously, the Complainant herself. The good news is that the judge seemed receptive to our argument that, in all likelihood, what happened here was that the Complainant simply misunderstood George’s quotation of Scripture and, being completely unfamiliar with the source, misconstrued it into a literal threat to her immediate safety. Krail might just as well have been speaking Martian.
The great translator of Scripture, St. Jerome, once wrote that “ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ.” But Christians, beware! As this Krail case shows, the ignorance of Scripture that now pervades our post-Christian world could also be hazardous to your liberty.

On SEPTEMBER 21, 1924, America’s 30th President, Calvin Coolidge, addressed the Holy Name Society in Washington, D.C., saying:
“The worst evil that could be inflicted upon the youth of the land would be to leave them without restraint and completely at the mercy of their own uncontrolled inclinations.
Under such conditions education would be impossible, and all orderly development intellectually or morally would be hopeless.”
Calvin Coolidge continued:
“The Declaration of Independence…claims…the ultimate source of authority by stating…they were… ‘appealing to the Supreme Judge of the World for the rectitude of’ their ‘intentions.’…
The foundations of our independence and our Government rests upon basic religious convictions.
Back of the authority of our laws is the authority of the Supreme Judge of the World, to whom we still appeal.”
President Calvin Coolidge concluded:
“It seems to me perfectly plain that the authority of law, the right to equality, liberty and property, under American institutions, have for their foundation reverence for God.
If we could imagine that to be swept away, these institutions of our American government could not long survive.”
Chief Justice of New York’s Supreme Court, James Kent, compiled Commentaries on American Law, 1826-30, and wrote in the case People v. Ruggles, 1811:
“Christianity was parcel of the law, and to cast contumelious reproaches upon it, tended to weaken the foundation of moral obligation, and the efficacy of oaths…
Whatever strikes at the root of Christianity tends manifestly to the dissolution of civil government…”
Chief Justice Kent continued:
“The authorities show that blasphemy against God and…profane ridicule of Christ or the Holy Scriptures…are offenses punishable at common law, whether uttered by words or writings…because it tends to corrupt the morals of the people, and to destroy good order…
The people of this State, in common with the people of this country, profess the general doctrines of Christianity, as the rule of their faith and practice;
and to scandalize the author of these doctrines is not only…impious, but…is a gross violation of decency and good order…”
Chief Justice Kent concluded:
“Nothing could be more injurious to the tender morals of the young, than to declare such profanity lawful…
The free, equal, and undisturbed enjoyment of religious opinion, whatever it may be, and free and decent discussions on any religious subject, is granted and secured; but to revile…the religion professed by almost the whole community, is an abuse of that right.”
